HOPEX V5 cluster architecture

Hi,
Scenario: A cluster architecture as shown below where two HAS servers along with IIS servers are behind a load balancer.

How can the above 2 HAS servers use same configuration as it was done until V4 with the help of “Share Configuration” file?

It seems that it is possible to attach several HAS servers with the help of “Cluster Join Token”, if yes, where to add this token – didn’t see an option during the installation?

This is where the token is generated from:

Can someone please guide?

I'm sending you the doc by email; when Olivier gets back we'll check they are available to the rest of the community

Hello,

Is there any documentation or instructions available on setting up communication between the two servers mentioned/highlighted below?

Hello,

I don't really get you question by what adress .

Here is a more details schema to help clarify

@oguimard
A follow up question: what address will be used on the two servers when intances are created? Shoud it be the loadbalancer address on both servers or their own address with respective server names?

Thank you !

Hello,

In V5 CP1 the mechanism to create a cluster is different than in V4.2. The documentation has not yet been updated.

In your situation :

  • Server 1 : install the server 1 HAS server as if it was alone. Create the instance and ensure everything is working
  • Server 2 : install the second server with the setup .
    • DO NOT create any instance
    • set the same HAS Instance manager port and password than on the server 1
  • Go back on server 1 on instance manager
  • go to menu Host : Click Add-Host
  • give the name of server 2
  • go to menu instance
  • on the existing instance click "Add cluster node"
  • In the pop-up select the server 2
  • the server 2 is now added to the farm
  • configure IIS
