The HOPEX EA product supporting the ArchiMate v3.0.1 standard is now certified by the Open Group:
https://certification.opengroup.org/register/archimate/mega_archimate3_tool_cert.pdf
New features in this release include:
1.1. “Nesting” support
HOPEX For the ArchiMate Framework now supports nesting: through a drag & drop of ArchiMate objects, relationships between objects are automatically created.
When dragging an object into an object shape (e.g. a capability inside a parent capability)
The UI proposes the applicable relationships (when several are available)
The selected relationship is then created:
1.2. Toolbar improvement
Two modes are now available for creating relationships:
1.3. Reuse of ArchiMate EA elements in HOPEX
The EA element creation wizard has been improved to streamline the creation of an HOPEX element based on the reuse of an existing ArchiMate element. This enhancement keeps the user from creating duplicates in the repository.
2.1. User Interface
The fulfillment (or realization) creation wizard has been redesigned. Radio buttons control formerly used to select the intended target concept (metaclass) have been replaced by a drop-down list with auto-completion
2.2. Data import/export
A new excel template is now available to import business capabilities and applications that fulfill (or realize) these business capabilities.
3.1. Data import/export
Two new excel templates are provided out of the box to import data into the solution:
In the last update a new feature was released to share an object or diagram. In this update, this feature is extended to provide end users the ability to share breadcrumbs.
Breadcrumbs are shared by email either by selecting the recipients or by entering the email address of the recipients. Email recipients can then display the breadcrumb corresponding to the sender's location, improving collaboration between HOPEX users.
Note: recipients should connect with the same profile as the person sharing the breadcrumb.
The activity feed feature allows users to get an overview of recent actions.
All Activities and the activity feed of an object have been simplified so that users can view recent updates with less time and effort.
Anatomy of Activity feed followed is “<Date> <Time> <Actor>< Verb>< Direct object/ Indirect object >”
Activities are aggregated if a user acts on same object and same hour.
Compare activity
When comparing activities on attributes or links, the compare activity wizard has been enhanced so that users can easily switch between attributes and links in the same wizard. User can find the “Compare activity” hyperlink just above the activity feed.
By default, only modified attributes or links are shown in the associated tabs over the last 7 days when you first open the compare activity wizard. In the wizard, the user has the ability to change the dates for the analysis.
By clicking on any item in the list, you can see the details of the modified attribute or links to the right.
The new Hamburger menu - released in HOPEX V2R1 Update 4 in HOPEX GDPR - now lets users to see the second level menu items on mouse hover. By clicking on it, it opens the lists related to the clicked menu item. This helps users to easily navigate on menu items without the need of clicking on each menu to see sub menu items.
Prerequisite: the repository is indexed. Repository indexing is performed by your administrator
The full search is now faster thanks to technical improvements on indexation and incremental indexation in the structured metamodel.
As soon as you enter a character, some suggestions (associated with autocompletion) are proposed. You can add several terms to your search, included tags and persons.
By default, the research is positioned on the text you entered, if needed, press the down navigation key to select one of the Suggestions or select it with the mouse.
By default, searches relate to objects with names or comments containing all of the terms entered, in the order entered. To refine your search, you can use operators. You can use several operators and mix them.
To add a person to the search:
Example: @m, @2me
From V3 version,
The @ operator enables to include one or several persons in the search.
Example 1 :
The search supplier AND invoice returns 17 results.
Example 2 :
The search supplier OR invoice returns 378 results.
Note : It is mandatory to reindex your repository to have all the new features of full text search including the performance improvements.
Heatmaps and bubble charts are now two distinct instant reports:
In the bubble chart report, bubble labels and bubble color can be changed, depending on a characteristic selected by the user.
The color of the bubbles depends on the color associated to the value, any given color or a gradient for numerical values.
Bubble colors are based on the “Software Agility” characteristic
Bubble colors are based on numerical values “Software Agility Score”
3. HOPEX Customizer Profile (HOPEX Report Studio)
3.1. Defining Graphs
Graph reports based on HOPEX Report Studio now include:
A path is located between two nodes. It can include intermediate nodes or tooltips. In the sample below, the path shows the contents exchanged between two applications.
Field information can be displayed directly in the graph, or as tooltips on top of nodes or paths:
Graphs can be filtered based on any Field. In the example below, only the applications in production exchanging a specific content are displayed.
3.2. Default values in Report Templates (HOPEX Report Studio)
Users creating report templates in HOPEX Report Studio can now define a default value, or a set of default values for a parameter used in the report. This is done in the Default Value tab of the selected parameter in the report template.
Example: In the report below, the parameters that contain the query to perform are pre-set and not displayed to the end user.
4.1. Reports
The performance of reports based on Report Dataset has been improved to avoid redundant computation. This optimization concern mostly reports with computed report dataset properties.
4.2. Queries
Optimization aims at limiting the access to the repository. It includes:
