When we have changes a few things in MEGA, we would like to be able to just post specific objects to view them in the portal, and not the whole content each time. We spend a lot of time waiting each time we do a minor change we wish to publish, and it deletes all the content each time and regenerates the whole site.
Especially when we do minor changes to a page and need to deploy it to verify links etc. (Not possible in the "preview") we waste a lot of valuable time.
Is it possible to deploy/generate parts of MEGA? Or just a single page? Or are we stuck with generating the whole site each time?

Christian

Hello Klaus
Can you open a new message/topic in the forum and be more specific about what you use, what you state and what you expect

We are having the same considerations around the web-generation. Could you point to information regarding batch execution of web-sites.

Hello Christian
The idea of static page generation (like web site 'Enteprise portal') is to generate all of the scope before user (pre-generation). The template is not designed for incremental generation (generate only 'what has changed').
If you want to reduce the scope, you can change the web site especially in the tab 'Object'.
This tab specifies root objects which in a key element to determine the scope.
Ex: if you do no need pages regarding application, you can remove the query 'Application *'
--> This will remove most applications from the scope (they can also be collected by propagation starting from other objects)
You can also use a query to filter objects for a Metaclass
Ex: select query 'APM My Applications', in the page of application
--> only the Applications objects selected by this query will be processed
You can also consider to batch web site generation.
However if you want to generate only the page consulted ('on demand'), you need to consider dynamic page generation (like MEGA Advisor..). This is a very different option.

I am sorry to hear this, but happy for the quick reply 🙂
Take care!

Hi,
As far as i know, this is not possible, the website generator engine will have to generate the whole website to take in consideration the customizations you did and to build the hyperlinks between the different HTML pages.
This concept is more used by the Dynamic portals such Advisor because the page generation is done on demand, which means that MGA will generate you the page only if you request it.
