Hi,
One of our clients currently has MEGA 2009 SP4 (planning to upgrade to SP5 CP8) and they are using Oracle as the storage medium.
They want to evaluate the possibility of switching to another RDBMS (SQL Server or MySQL).
Before doing that we are wondering if MEGA recommends any of the three.
We know that all of them are supported, but are any one of the three (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) recommended over the others?
Also, do you have any information as to which one is used the most?
Thanks

Hello Stijn
Performances are similar between Oracle storage and SQL Server storage of MEGA data.
It is not clear the performances will be improved when switching to Oracle storage.
What is important is the technical infrastructure supporting the MEGA installation.
If you can improve or tune it, it is likely that you get better performances.

Jerome,
are there any differenes in performance between SQL Server and Oracle? One of our clients is running on SQL Server but wants to try out Oracle to see if the performance would be better.
thanks

Hello ASousa
Before doing that we are wondering if MEGA recommends any of the three.
--> MEGA usually recommends SQL Server because it is easier to administrate
However we have also signficant customers using Oracle.
Anyway do not MySQL as it is not sure it will be maintained in the next major version
