Clear formatting behaviour

Hello,

We see a difference in the behavior of the "Clear Formatting" button on a Comment attribute, between the Web interface and the Windows interface.
We use HOPEX in version V3 CP4 HF01.

On a Comment attribute (Varchar), our users copy / paste text from a site.
We return this information via a documentary template produced in java via Aspose.

From the Web interface, the Returned Comment attribute includes Html code.
We use the "Clear formatting" button on this attribute and regenerate the document without change: the Html code is still present.

We perform the same manipulation from the Windows interface:
Using the "Clear formatting" button on the Comment attribute resolves the problem: there is no longer any Html code in the generated document.

Is this difference in behavior of the "Clear formatting" button between the web interface and the windows interface known?
If so, then what solution for its use in web mode?

Thanks you in advance.

Hi Otilmant1,

We are facing similar issue which you encountered. We run a .net tool  that copies the object comment into a word document.

If the Comment is updated in Hopex Web, the .net tool is generating the content as HTML Content. If the comment is updated in windows client, the tool is generating properly without any issue as expected.

Could you please let me know, what actions did you take up in order to solve this issue? It would help us to go forward to solve issue at our end.

Thanks,

Sailesh.

It looks like you are wondering if the behavior you are encountering is a bug or if it is the expected behavior, and if so what your solution would be. For this type of scenario i would recommend you open a Support Case via the Community so that we may investigate this issue further for you. When opening the case please include a document with screenshots that outlines the exact steps to reproduce the issue as well as including any error log files and any other relevant supporting files.
