Profile with Shared license also utilizes a dedicated LAN license

Hello,

My client has an issue where he is running out of LAN licenses.

That's because every user who has the profile "SN Process Developer (shared license)" also takes a dedicated LAN license (screenshot attached).

He has investigated the command line, and it looks like this is OK.

So far he has done “Clean Up” and “Reset License Configuration” in License utility.

He is on Hopex V1R3 CP 12.

Any suggestions please?

Regards,

Asim

Jhober,

Did you end up resolving this issue? We're still currently operating under the LAN_F=1 configuration, and would like to align with your best practice.

Many thanks,

Hello

Let me remind that adding the line LAN_F=1 is not a fix

It is  a condition to enable an extended mode when LAN tokens can be counted on a LAN_F or LAN_D counter and not on the standard LAN counter

Asim,

Had the same problem with our install. The Floating LAN licences are not being recognised as LAN licences, so the tool attempts to use a static LAN each time. Try this fix:

  • Open the mega server
  • Browse to the Mega installation folder
  • Open the CFG folder
  • Edit the megasite.ini file
  • Add the following line at the end:
    • [Must licence]
      LAN_F=1
  • Restart the service

Hello asimhassan

Allocation of licence tokens can be complex.

I suggest that you open a case so that we can perform further investigations.
