What's the purpose of the files in the Db USER folders on the filesystem?

We're looking to do some cleanup prior to transferring data from one server to another, to support our upgrade to HOPEX V2.

We've noticed there are a lot of files in the Environment Db USER folders, eg:

  • .xlsx
  • .xmg
  • .gif
  • .html
  • .mgr
  • .mga
  • .mgl

Not all users have these; some have a fair number.  What are these used for, and are they safe to clean out?  Is there a recommended method for cleaning them up?

Great - thanks for the clarity!  We'll be cleaning these out regularly from now on.

The User folders contain files created/generated by the users. It's the default folder used for exports (mgr, mgl and xmg files) from in the user workspaces (transactions). It contains aswell the temporary data when running HTML or RTF descriptors for example. MEGA doesn't need the files to run properly.
