We have  workflow pending for approval from 1 approver who left the organization , Can we change the participant in between the workflow to new approver. There are about 250 objects pending for approval.

Is it possible to change participant via Script or manually to new participant without ending workflow.

Thanks for your support.

Having a lot of these changes for running workflow instances and in order to minimize the workload for the functional admin the idea is to have a script running via scheduler to check and if necessary update the participant list of each running workflow instance. We tried to implement it, but right now we can not identify the property or. association that needs to be updated via this script. Can you please give a short example or point us to the right property where we can add or delete system person from the transition participant list?

Our expectation is that users are dynamically added or excluded based on the participant role definition in running workflows. Is it realistic to ask for this feature via ideation process?

In the standard workflows, there typically is a Functional Administrator role, and with a users with this role should be able to approve or progress the workflow to the next status.

Alternatively you can give your self Workflow Administrator rights and then you can re-assign users in the workflows. Change this setting in Options dialog.

out of the box there is no option that allows to do that.

In fact the persons who can click on the button are computed upfront and store in the "Workflow Instance".

The only way to my knowledge to do it is to make a script to update the Workflow Instance. In theory it work but I never tried.
