It doesn't seem to be possible to search for a specific person? Can that really be true. I want to find a person and the applications that person is responsible for.

Thanks, very useful tips. I guess I am now more in the territory of a feature suggestion for the HOPEX team, when I expect a search box in a web application to search everything and then present me with filtering options afterwards 🙂

@bering In the specific example in your screenshot. The issue is using "Main objects". That is too broad.
Set that to "Person(System)" in order for your query to return a list of "Person(system)" object matching the keyword "Christian"

You are right but not all types of objects are visible in the "regular" i.e. "indexed search" - this is probably done on purpose to keep the search limited as per the profile to avoid unnecessary searches which can impact the performance.
Therefore, advanced search is used to narrow down the search criteria, to be more specific on what is being searched?

Thanks, the last two suggestions work. But its not something I would want to instruct others in how to do. I hope it will just be possible to search for a person in the main search box in the future. Logged in as Enterprise Architect by the way.

@bering Here is an end to end test case with results.
I am using Aquila 6.0 SP2 and was logged in with Solution Architect profile.

Seems to be fine on my side - you have different behavior?
Try to click on "List" here if nothing shows up.

I can't really get that query to work, I think it requires entering the name in a special way? Doing it with spaces definitely doesn't work.

@bering Which profile are you using?
Hopex GUI is very Profile specific. For example, in some profiles you can see certain relationships between objects from Properties pages - but in others you can't.
Look at my scenario.

When I select a Person(System) object, I can see the "Assignments" tab. which shows me all the objects assigned to me via some Business role.

Yes, I think that is an OK work-around. But kind of crazy that you can't click a person's name and then go to a page that lists all the objects assigned to a person...

Does this help?
Select [Application] Where [Person Assignment].[Assigned Person]= &Name
