HOPEX Aquila: ideas to improve tabs in property pages (navigation, settings)

Context
I am Tanguy Le Duff, UX designer and in charge of UX improvements for the HOPEX Aquila product. I am taking advantage of the community forum to share with you here some improvement ideas, with 2 objectives:
1) to get our customers to react to confirm (or not) these improvement needs, and possibly deepen and refine these expressions of need;
2) to allow customers to react to the ideas to identify the best possible solution in a co-construction process.

Topics
A customer shared with us that they were having difficulty with tabs in property pages.

- topic#1: there is a first topic around the navigation in the tabs of the property pages (in particular when the number of tabs is high and a navigation bar is displayed to move in these tabs, with the buttons "<" and ">")

TanguyLD_0-1750059751489.png

- topic#2: the "settings" button is not always displayed (always in case there is a high number of tabs displayed in the property page viewed) so a user who does not know this option may possibly miss it, and not know that he can manage by himself and configure the display of the tabs in the property page

Ideas for UX improvements
- idea#1 for topic#1:
add the ability to quickly navigate through tabs (e.g., double-clicking "<" repositions tabs to the far left, and double-clicking ">" repositions tabs to the far right)
- idea#2 for topic#2: always display the "settings" button in a sticky position

+ your other ideas?

Please feel free to comment to react to the ideas proposed on the one hand, but also to add other ideas on the other hand. Thank you

It would be useful to have a pinned and unpinned metaclasses tabs feature. When a session is reopened or you navigate through Hopex, the metaclass tab that has been pinned should remain.

@Melina The feature will be available according to the release notes for Aquila 6.2

@TanguyLD  I love that you're using the community for this type of feedback. I would like to see more of this.

RE: Topic 1:  I don't find "navigating" left or right to be an issue.    I just press-and-hold the button ">" or "<" until the display shows the tab I'm looking for.    Not sure that "double-click" action will add a lot of value.   Especially since object properties doesn't usually display more than 10-15 tabs.

RE: Topic 2:  100% agree that the "Settings" button must be 'sticky'.

My biggest challenge with Property Tabs  has been that default tabs per Metaclass are not usually what our users expect/want.   Changing the default is not possible for SaaS customers without contacting Mega Professional Services.   This should not be so.   We should have ability to quickly set global default tabs for the Metaclasses we use.

The name tab should at least show the metaclass icon. (see image)

It would be useful to show, in the overview tab, what type of metaclass is open. I have to open the Review Note menu to find out what type of metaclass I have open.

When I have navigated through different diagrams, it is difficult to know whether it is an application or a technology, an infrastructure object, or something else.
