Microsoft SQL Server 2012 compatibility with MEGA 2009 SP5 CP9

Hi there,

May i check if MS SQL Server 2012 is compatible with MEGA 2009 SP5 CP9 ?

We are thinking of installing it with SQL 2012 as it supported up to 16 cores, and probably it will be a better option as our enterprise scale upwards.

Re: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 compatibility with MEGA 2009 SP5 CP9

Hello robincher

It is not planned that SQL Server 2012 will be qualified with MEGA 2009 SP5.

However it will be qualified with the following major version.

Hi Jerome,

Thanks for the explaination.

Beside SQL Server 2012, will SQL Server 2008 be supported for the next major release too?

We want to identified the version of MS SQL Server that we can used across two MEGA major releases.

Hi

Yes. In the next major version following MEGA 2009 SP5:

  • Both SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2008 will be supported
  • SQL Server 2005 will no longer be supported

What do you mean SQL Server 2005 will no longer be supported in the next release of MEGA?

Can you elaborate?

For storage of MEGA data with SQL Server

The next major version called HOPEX will support

  • SQL Server 2008/2008 R2
  • SQL Server 2012

SQL Server 2005 will still be supported but with MEGA 2009 SP4/SP5.
