System processes?

Hi,

I'm trying to model the activiies of a system (sequence flow or system scenarios) and the only options i have seems to use either "Organizational process diagram" with sub-process  object or "System Process Diagram" with System process object

So what is better? what are the advantages and disadvantgaes of each approach?

Thank you

Re: System processes?

Hi,

Given the information of your e-mail, it seems like you should use system process.

Organizational Process : Who does what  (Organization view) ? And the link to the application to document the fact that a user is using an application to perform an operation.

System Process : Sequence of system tasks performed by operation to offer a service (Contextualization of a Process in an IT view). The advantage of using this one in your case (maybe ?) is to be able to link application elements to the tasks (screens ...)

Helps this helps,

Re: System processes?

Hi,

Its a matter of view point - are you seing the process from the organizational viewpoint or from the system viewpoint. As such there is no advantages or disadvantages, since both process types are using BPMN.
